Your first round

A rocket. A melee.
You know what to do.

Well, almost. Here are the basics before you join.

  1. 01

    Pick your class

Pyro uses the Hot Hand and has a larger deflection volume. Scout uses the bat, with faster movement, a double jump, and a smaller volume. Start with Pyro while you learn the timing.

  2. 02

Keep the rocket in front of you

Watch the approach and adjust your position. Your deflection volume extends forward from where you’re looking, so facing the rocket matters.

  3. 03

    Time your melee

Slap or swing when the rocket reaches your class’s deflection volume. Melee weapons return rockets in this mode; they don’t damage the other team’s players.

  4. 04

    Set up the next return

After the hit, watch the rocket and reposition. Give yourself room to react, and keep adjusting as the rally develops.
